You're right about Bono though. I love the story about when he stood on stage and clicked his fingers at 2 second intervals, then addressed the crowd with “Every time I click my fingers, an African child dies”. To which a bloke in the crowd shouted out: “Stop doing it then!”

Indeed – Beef Lightning. I've tried explaining that to a few people, but nobody I've spoken to thus far thinks it in the slightest bit odd that a place might sell a 1/2 double cheeseburger.

I think Wembley's shitty acoustics let them down a bit. Having heard the 'sounddesk' broadcasts of their Sheffield gig a few days later, the band themselves sounded absolutely amazing – but some of that just didn't make it across at Wembley.

But they still rocked. Really glad they played Ultraviolet, and super-excited that they did The Unforgettable Fire. Made up for all the insipid stuff from the new album.

I'm really pleased that I went, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But I didn't have a post-gig buzz. My ears weren't ringing the next day, I didn't wake up smiling and have an urge to bound about listening to all of the songs. That's usually my tell-tale signs of a great gig.

But, it was pretty awesome at the same time. I came away from it almost thinking that Bono was less of a twat than I expected him to be, so at least something was achieved ;-)
