2005-07-28 : Made it !
OK, well that all ended up fine – got in to Dublin at about 2:30, managed to make it to where I was meant to be, and raced through a day's training in 2 hours. Go me ! More later.

Am a bit cranky tonight – missed Tai Chi because the fecking Victoria Line was shut due to “Passenger action at King's Cross”. There was nothing about it on the BBC site, so there's every chance it was just someone sick on the train or something. Still, not v. happy. Plus, at the time when…
Off to a flying start so far (excuse the shitty pun) – I've managed to miss my flight to Dublin, and am presently on standbyin Gatwick for the 1:15 flight. Interestingly, the thingabout standby is that they don'ttell you whether you're on the flight or not until 10 mins before checkin closes. As the queue…
Can't say I'm overwhelmed with confidence about our building security arrangements here… I know that in the main, the primary group inconvenienced by building security are in fact the day-to-day users of the building, however I can't help but think that the numpties in charge of this place have somewhat missed the point. Grabbed a couple of happy snaps of the view from the office yesterday… The trouble is, with the dirty window (that's the thing about summer here – it rains often enough to get splodges on the windows, but not often enough to wash the splodges off), and the generally bleak weather yesterday, it's kinda hard…
It's true, I've been watching Father Ted a lot lately… It's not exactly all advanced or subtle humour, but it's still got me giggling like mad, and it has my contemporaries rolling their eyes as they've all been through this back when it first came out (about 10 years ago) and it's just me who's…
Note to self: don't bother opening a bottle of sparkling red to share with housemate until said housemate has actually arrived home. It ends badly. Sadly, I didn't get to writing about my Stockholm or Falconry trips like I'd intended to, but on the upside, I did manage to cook up a load of Tom…
Speaking of wondrous geography, at the behest of Patrick, I have been having a bit of a go at the latest toy from those crazy boffins in the Google Labs, Google Earth. I can't say I've thought of a practical use for it, but it's quite a lot of fun ! It's pretty mind blowing…
OK, so let's talk about Live 8, before I completely forget what happened there. On Saturday I went in to Hyde Park with Paul, Em, and Em's brother Andrew, to be part of the crowd for possibly the biggest rock concert ever held. There's probably not that much point in going on about the goal…
