I’ve come to value this blog not only as a means of communicating ideas and information to the thousands of regular readers* but also as a sort of time capsule for looking back at what was happening in the past (and I’ve been at this since about 2003!).
So this post isn’t to pile on to the hastily-formed opinion & rhetoric about the situation at the Capitol building in Washington, but rather just to record this moment in time when President Donald Trump made the following statement (as reported by The Guardian live coverage):
Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!
